If it's a vaccine race, then I'm declaring the winner....
While the focus has been on NSW and the ACT in the race to the finish line, the real winner has been Australia’s smallest Territory of Norfolk Island.
This Pacific island community of approximately 1800 people is scheduled to rapidly achieve more than 80 per cent of the population being fully vaccinated. The latest report from 13 September showed 90 per cent of the population with one dose and 76 per cent fully vaccinated, an increase of more than 8 per cent in the last week. So they should have hit the target by today!
I have been fortunate to have worked with the community over many years to develop strategies for health service provision in their unique and challenging environment. The primary care service has all the elements for a best practice integrated care model - with a single general practice and health care provider.
If you get a chance (and are fully vaccinated), head on over for a holiday and check out this unique place.
